Biographical Sketch

biographical assignment

In a classroom setting a teacher has an opportunity to become acquainted with each student. Often this is helpful when working with a student to help in the best possible way. For the ADP math course, it is not so easy for me to get to know each student. I would like to know something about you that would help me help you in learning this material.

Please send me a short typewritten biographical sketch—from a paragraph to no more than two pages! Nothing is prescribed—what you write is up to you. Let me know what you think might be useful to me as the teacher to help make your journey along this mathematical path as successful as possible.

Items that you might consider include:

  • your degree and career plans,
  • why you are taking this math course,
  • previous math courses you have taken in high school and college,
  • your general comfort level with math,
  • hobbies,
  • interests,
  • family information,
  • personal data,
  • in general, anything you would like me to know about you.

This "preliminary assignment" is a part of your assigned work. Some homework points will be awarded for completion of this regardless of the specific information you choose to send. However, to earn points, this assignment must be received prior to the first test.

This assignment can satisfy the "first contact" requirement.

If you wish, you can send your information via e-mail:  turner@swau.edu.

The information will be kept confidential!
